Anyone who is connected to the internet through any type of modem should enable the XP Firewall. It is easy to enable!
1. Click on Start, then “Right” click on My Network Places (if you are using a different theme then My Network Places may be on your desktop), then left click on Properties.
2. Now you will see Local Area Connection. “Right” click on Local Area Connection, then left click on Properties.
3. Now simply click on the box to put a check mark in it. Then click on OK to finish. That’s it, you are done! Enabling the firewall just adds more protection but you are of course not 100% protected. You should still have current Antivirus software and run some type of spyware checker on a regular basis. For the best protection, ask us about a hardware firewall.
