Nas-Lite

Changing Drives in your NAS Server. 


Click on START, then click on RUN...


Type Telnet 192.168.1.88 (you need to use the ip number assigned to your Nas Server.), then click on OK


Type in your Login then hit the Enter key. Then type in your password and hit the enter key. Use lower case letters
Default Login: admin  
Default Password: nas
(use lower case letters)
(Note you will not see any characters displayed in the password field)


This is the Main Menu for your Nas Server.
(use lower case letters)


To Shut Down your Nas Server type the number 8 and hit Enter.
 


It will ask you to confirm that you want to shut down. Type the letter y then hit the Enter key.

Once you see this screen, wait 60 seconds, then you may press the power button to turn the power off.


Press and hold the power button on the front of your Nas Server until you hear the power shut off. This should happen within about 7 seconds, if not sooner.


Now insert the key into the key slot on the Nas Server as shown in the photo.


Turn the key to the Off position as shown.


Now lift the handle on the drive bay.


Now pull the drive bay out.


Now you can insert a new drive bay.


Hole the handle all the way up, then push the drive bay all the way in.


Press the handle all the way down so it is flush with the case.


Now turn the key back to the on position as shown in the photo.

Now you may press the power button to turn it back on.  Wait approximately 2 minutes for the system to boot up and initialize.

An Overview.
Login remotely to the
Nas Server and shut it down using Telnet.
Power Down the Nas Server using the power button.
Unlock the removable drive bay and remove it from the Nas Server.
Insert new drive bay and Lock it in place with the key.
Power on using the Power Button on the Nas Server.
The Nas Server will Beep 3 times when Online again.  Two Low Beeps and One High.
