Open Office v.1

This tutorial will step you through setting up your Open Office to save files using Microsoft Office format so you can share files with people who use Microsoft Office without paying the huge price tag.

1. If you have not installed Open office yet, be sure to check these during installation. If you don’t, that is ok.  But if you get the chance then do it.
 

2. After Open Office is already installed.  Click on Start, Programs, OpenOffice, then Text Document (shown below).

3. Click on Tools, Options (shown below).

4. Double click on Load/Save (or click on the + next to Load/Save) so that you see see the options below.  Now click on General as shown in the image below.

5. Now set your’s to look like the images below then click on OK.

That is it!! Now you have a free office suite that will save files like Micorsoft Office.
